High bloodpressure

High blood pressure can be caused by obesity, high blood sugar and insulin levels, inflammation of the vascular walls, kidney problems and stress. High blood pressure is one of the leading risk factors for heart attack, heart failure and stroke. It can be genetic, but in most cases the increased blood pressure is mainly the result of a wrong lifestyle.

Blood pressure lowering drugs have only moderately positive effects. In addition, they often have unpleasant side effects. They are also mentioned in some studies as a possible cause of kidney cancer.
